Dandelion Latte with Turmeric and Ginger

When roasted Dandelion Root resembles the sweet-bitter taste of coffee. It also contains the powerful prebiotic inulin and is used by herbalists for its contribution to health. Combining it with anti-inflammatory turmeric and antioxidant-rich ginger creates a nourishing drink that your body will thank you for.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1/2 tsp powdered ginger root

  • 1/2 tsp powdered turmeric root

  • 1 tbsp Danoffee roasted dandelion coffee

  • 1/2 cup milk or milk alternative

Optional

  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

  • sprinkle cinnamon ground

Instructions

  • Ude French press or cafeteria. Add boiling water to dandelion root coffee, tumeric and ginger and brew it for 5 minutes.

  • Pour the brew to the pot with the milk or milk alternative, as well as the honey or maple syrup. Heat until the milk mixture is warmed to your liking.

  • Before serving, the option to quickly blend your drink in a high-speed blender to build some foam on top. I find this only works with a milk or milk alternative that has a fat content (organic soy milk, homemade almond milk, pea milk).

  • Option to sprinkle to ground cinnamon before serving and add some honey or maple syrup for sweetness.

Notes

Make it vegan: Use a plant-based milk. Use maple syrup in place of honey.

Making it Dairy-Free: Use any plant-based milk in this recipe. A milk with some fat content will result in a creamier consistency and creates some desirable foam on top. Try pea milk, organic soy milk or homemade almond or hemp milk.
